This was my Final Year Illustration Project for my BFA (Applied art). I compiled a book of illustrations as responses to the question 'Why did the Chicken Cross the Road?' Images were hand drawn, then inked in Illustrator and coloured in Photoshop.

A question often heard as a joke, 'Why did the Chicken Cross the Road?' is one that always seems to remain unanswered.
This was an illustration project where I attempted to answer a few of the questions.
The jokes were sourced from various places, online, joke books and friends.

The Sphinx responds: You Tell Me

Do not concern yourself with the chicken that crossed the road,

the answer lies in the chicken that DID NOT cross the road.

Jack Nicholson: "Because it ***** wanted to, that's the ****** reason!"

Dr. Seuss:
Did the Chicken cross the road?
Did he cross it with a toad?
Yes the Chicken crossed the road,
But why he crossed I've not been told!

"We made her an offer she couldn't resist..."

I came, I saw, I crossed.
